Broken Bridge

This part of an old bridge is something that old Romans would recognize.

It was built between 179 to 142 B.C. Damaged by flooding after the end of the Roman Empire, it was rebuilt a few times during the Middle Ages but abandoned after floods in 1575 and 1598.

It was an arch bridge used as a road, built with stones. Only one span remains today. The bridge in the background is modern.
