The journey from Nukus to the Aral Sea takes around 8 hours, on and off the road for almost 500 Km.
From Nukus, the route goes northeast reaching the former port of Muynak, then traverse along the former bed of the sea until reaching the Ustyurt Plateau. From the cliffs in the plateau, the Aral Sea appears 185 km from its original shoreline. A camp was set up close to the current shoreline for the night.
The route traverse through an isolated, poor and depressed part of Uzbekistan, where water is scarce and with serious health problems, exacerbated by the polluted sands from the former seabed of the Aral Sea.

El recorrido de Nukus al Mar Aral requiere cerca de 8 horas, en y fuera de la carretera por casi 500 Km.
De Nukus, el recorrido va en dirección noreste llegando al antiguo puerto de Muynak, para luego atravesar el antiguo lecho marino hasta llegar a la Meseta Ustyurt. Desde los acantilados en la meseta, el Mar Aral aparece a unos 185 Km de su costa original. En la costa actual se instaló un campamento para pasar la noche.
La ruta atraviesa una parte aislada, pobre y deprimida de Uzbekistán, donde el agua es escasa y donde se presentan serios problemas de salud, exacerbados por las arenas contaminadas del antiguo lecho marino del Mar Aral.
